While They Were Waiting...

They picked up the plum and enjoyed some much-needed R & R.

SugarPlum's clown gene rose to the surface.

And Son3 began cracking up over his brother's kuhknucklehead kid.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.  For evildoers shall be cut off.  ~Psalm 37:7, 9a

Beauty

This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.  It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.  The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.  ~Lamentations 3:21-24

A Solemn, Quiet Time

If our family comes to mind over the next seven days, please whisper a prayer for us.

Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.  I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.  ~Psalm 27:13, 14

Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.  Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.  ~Psalm 40:4, 5

We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.  Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.  Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.  ~Psalm 20:5-7

Roosting Renegades

Two hens have long lived with the CowNots, and one or both have given us new chickens.  Wild chickens.  They wander about in the woods and help themselves to cownot chow.  We really must lure them over this way, for they're old enough now to be laying, which may be occurring in the woods — snacks for every coon, possum, and 'nake in our corner of the county.

Last night Son4 discovered where these wild chickens overnight.

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!  If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
~Psalm 139:17, 18

Unanswered Questions

If my math is working this morning, there are 397 questions listed on the All in One Chunk page.  Familiar with most of the questions associated with this incident, I haven't yet read this compilation in its entirety, but I was looking for a condensed version of the unanswered questions, and a quick skim of this one seemed a good place to begin.  I've poked a few representative questions here as a sampler, and one can visit the site to peruse them all.

9/11 - The Basic Questions

1.  Why didn't jets intercept the airliners since they had numerous warnings of terrorist attacks?

2.  Why did Ashcroft stop flying commercial airlines, citing an unidentified "threat" in July 2001?

5.  Why did George H.W. Bush meet bin Laden's brother on 9/11?

6.  Why did passengers or crew members on three of the flights all use the term box cutters?

7.  Where are the flight recorders?

9.  How did President Bush see the first plane crash on live camera?

10.  Why was a security meeting scheduled for 9/11 canceled by WTC management on 9/10?

19.  Why did President Bush stop inquiries into terrorist connections of the Bin Laden family in early 2001?

23.  What about media reports that hijackers bought tickets for flights scheduled after Sept. 11?

24.  Why did none of the 19 hijackers appear on the passenger lists?

29.  How did a hijacker's passport miraculously appear near the WTC?  Who found it and what time?

See all of the unanswered (and enormously troubling) questions here.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.  ~Revelation 22:21

Minor(NOT) Detail - Health Care

The Truth about the Health Care Bills

Read it
Have it read to you

6 min, 51 sec

Postscript: In response to Joyful Momma's thoughtful remarks, while this is by no means exhaustive, a few of the bill's elements are addressed in this analysis by John David Lewis, associate professor in the Philosophy, Politics and Economics program at Duke University.  Line-by-line analyses are online and circulating via email, and those can be individually scrutinized by checking the text of HR 3200 at Open Congress.

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.  ~Isaiah 33:15-16

Digging for Truth

HR3200
SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS.

Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

Barack Obama, 9/09/09:  "There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants.  This too is false.  The reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally."

1.  To my knowledge, most of the people who are in this country illegally have "documents."  Therefore, they are not undocumented.

2.  FAIR:  "Let's be clear: there is nothing in the bill that expressly grants eligibility for the affordability credits to illegal aliens.  But so too, there is nothing in the bill that requires the use of a clear, specified verification method to determine eligibility related to legal status either. The absence of this requirement is a loophole that will allow illegal aliens to receive benefits, and it is this loophole that concerns the American people."  [FAIR - Federation for American Immigration Reform - Analysis Section 246 (pdf) - Full analysis of the current bill's loopholes for illegal aliens - "Affordability credits" and "plan enrollment" are not the same thing.]

3.  Confusion abounds when one considers illegal aliens can currently receive free (to them) health care, so why would they need health insurance of any sort?  Isn't this much ado about nothing?

Off topic:  "Jobs Americans won't do" suddenly changed during the Bush admin to "jobs Americans aren't doing."  At the time, I found this noteworthy, and all the more so now, as the unemployment rate rises.  Now, as before, it should be "jobs American's can't do" (because the positions are already filled by people who are here illegally).

A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.  ~Proverbs 26:28

Take a Picture

Would you take a picture of me, so I can see what I look like?

Heh.
Oh, are you serious?

Yeah, I wanna see what I look like.

Uh.  Okay.

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.  ~Romans 12:10

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.  ~Matthew 24:38, 39

Sons1234

It had been many, many moons since all the boys were last together.  First order of business was to try out the blow gun Son2 brought Son3 for his birthday.

Notice the long, red band on the blow gun:
DO NOT INHALE DART!
Scary.

This was a photo op for Mom.
Okay, Mom sees all things as photo ops.

The children let their C-gene bubble up.
Clown op.

SugarPlum made a cake.

And iced it.

When it was time to leave, she made a last stop in the powder room and opened the linen cabinet to see if Purrle was still napping inside.  She whacked herself in the head with the corner of the door and needed a cold compress.

Of course, she always takes a little something away with her, and this time, it was a little homegrown pumpkin...

...and the magical stick-tight compress.

[Kinda looks like there might have been a bit of brain damage.  No, wait.  I think it's just that C-gene again.]

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.  ~Psalms 46:1-3, 10-11
