Piggledy Exchange

[Scene: driving along on a country road.]

Mom:  (with a sweeping motion of her arm across the windshield) What a vista.

Son4:  What?

Mom:  (arm sweeping the windshield again) What a vista.

Son4:  I don't think anything ate it.

Mom:  What?

Son4:  I don't think anything ate it.

Mom:  Please say the last two words slowly.

Son4:  ATE IT

Mom:  I said, "What a vista."  You don't think anything ate what?

Son4:  Ohh.  I thought you were saying, "What ate this stuff?"

FishFace

Okay, I should be abed, but I sat down here to check my mail and was so delighted by the photos in an email from my niece, I had to share one:

STOP SQUEEEEEEEZIN'

Dontcha have to love a fishface?  If my amusement is only about being punchy at this late hour, just smile and nod.

Pretty Yellow Flowers

I got an email the other night from Kath, sharing some of her yard sights, and she said she knew I'd be especially impressed with her yellow flowers, so I was eager to see them.  Scrolling past text to the photos, those beauties were the first to pop onto the screen:

I laughed aloud.

Truth be known, I quite like dandelions.  Perhaps they get their bad rap as a result of the uncomely puffballs they become, but in their delicate, radial, yellow glory, they're beautiful.

Redeeming herself, the photos also included this beauty from a very special rose garden:

In the photo bounty was a cardinal:

I love cardinals.
The males display such striking color.
The females are my admitted favorite, their understated, modest beauty seeming perfect.

Finally, this handsome indigo bunting:

Gorgeous

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  I Corinthians 2:9

Willow's Dandelion Plum

A mere few days after my SugarPlum's Bad Hair Day, Willow — who lives where the snow piled high this year — sent along photos of her own plum having a dande of a day.  You must, of course, first see the precious little precursor to the development of The Dandelion Plum:

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.  And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.  Matthew 19:14; Mark 9:42
