The Sun Did Rise

What will I say?
Will I just let my blog lie fallow for a while?
I can't just take up frivolous talk of chickens or bread or my favorite things, as if nothing has happened.

One of my favorite Scriptures came to mind last night, and I purposed to capture the sunrise this morning to illustrate it. It continues in verse 24, "The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him."

Those interested in eschatology, and particularly those who are interested in the lesser seen machinations of civil government, are watching the stage be set for the final chapters of prophecy. There will be beauty from ashes, the oil of joy for mourning. "Watch," Jesus told us. "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." [Luke 21:36]

Jesus is our example, and He said from the cross, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." Stephen, as he was being stoned to death for his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, "cried with a loud voice, 'Lord, lay not this sin to their charge.'" They're not even killing us yet (in the USA). We can find this prayer within our souls for lesser offenses.

Real change, right change, lasting change, isn't made through civil government. It's made one heart at a time, in an everlasting, unchanging kingdom greater than all kingdoms on earth. \o/

For I am the Lord, I change not. ~Malachi 3:6a

Pea Ess

Maybe I should have known all along I wouldn't be able to stay my own words about the state of our federal republic on such an important day. ºÜº

Days ago, I scripted just God's Word to run on my blog today (below), but I was talking with my Pup, Son2, last night, and he confirmed a thought I'd had about a win by the Marxist candidate in the race today, who amongst a plethora of other, grave(r) issues has clearly and unabashedly stated he plans to bankrupt the coal industry and send the price of electricity skyrocketing. [Listen here.] The majority of union members are known to always vote the Democratic ticket. My Pup is an engineer/conductor for a railroad, and he works about 26 trains per month. Of those 26 trains, an average of 22 are coal trains. A whole lot of men are planning to try to vote themselves out of a job. Go figure.

If I had a dog in the fight, a horse in the race, I'd be a single issue voter. I'd vote against the Marxist on every single issue.

"You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism." ~Nikita Khrushchev (Ezra Taft Benson, "Our Immediate Responsibility." Devotional Address at Brigham Young University, circa 1968)
God's will be done. Amen.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:17, 21

Steady

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. ~Psalm 46:1-3

Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. ~Psalm 33:20-22

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 8:35, 38, 39

At the memorial service on September 14, 2001, President George W. Bush quoted Romans Chapter 8, verses 38 and 39, but he stopped short of completing the passage, closing with, "...shall be able to separate us from the love of God."

My eyes widened, my heart sank, for I knew what had been omitted: "...shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him [Christ Jesus] , and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ~Philippians 2:9-11

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. ~Romans 14:11 [shall: Now or later; timing is everything and eternally binding, because in the very end, bowing shall not be optional. Loving, yes. Bowing, no.]

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ~John 14:6

Tagged

Ashley, author of A Country Maiden's Lane, has tagged me to list six random things about myself. I'm so old that the only game of tag I've ever played involved a whole lot of running. This new sort of tag is perfectly fitted to my current speed and agility.

  1. I won't use the voicemail feature of our phone system; it's always turned off.

  2. The north entrance of our Wal*Mart makes me feel dismal, so I always endeavor to use the south entrance.

  3. I made peace with my freckles at age 25.

  4. I'm 1/16th Cherokee (plus English and Scottish) by national heritage.

  5. When I'm passenger in a vehicle, I read cookbooks.

  6. Thinking of Jesus, Himself, wiping away tears -- unmerited love and His touch -- makes me cry.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 3:13, 14

WHOSE Eyelashes?

But first, I'm sitting with the camera on the desk, the keyboard in my lap, and I hear a scratch-scratch-scratch on the door. "Would someone let the dog in, because I literally can't stand up right now."

"Why does he want in?"

"Because he lives here."

Kinda makes a girl feel useful, like she's earning her keep. What would they do without me?

Eyelashes. I won't mention any names or start a yammer about fussy or shot adrenal systems, but imagine the email exchanges between a couple of women whose thinkers are currently AWOL. Even now I don't know if I typed ELVIS, or a quick read dropped the "H" from the reader's eyes, but the results were funny, because someone thought I'd bought yarn named Elvis Eyelash. Would that be Presley or the rooster?

It's a novelty yarn, on deep discount (in other words, does this appeal to anyone? at any price?), and I snatched it right up. We'll blame it on my adrenal glands. It's ELVISH EYELASH. The cotton candy colors and silky softness were irresistible to me.

I had to add it to the 7 or 70 other in-progress knitting projects, because I was achin' all over to discover how it would work up. One day, it'll be a blankie for SugarPlum, and unless I miss my bet, it'll be a fine complement to the chest of drawers she and her Mama2 recently painted for her bedroom.

Almost makes me wish I was a little girl again. ºÜº
I hope I don't pet it bald before it's finished.

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. ~John 6:40
