Sprout
When nurturing 294 potted seeds, the sprouting of plant #1 is an event.

Woo Hoo! Go Broccoli! My first sprout was kale, of all things, followed by onions. My broccoli is still hiding.
Ha! I went in and spoke "encouragingly" to my broccoli seeds, letting them know that Caroline's seed were already popping up and they might want to get with the program. Today - success! Nothing like a little peer pressure to get things started. *L*
