Article - Blessed Subtractions

A friend brought to my attention this morning some of the most recent movements of the persuasive and celebrated leader of the purpose driven church movement, which prompted me to run "blessed subtractions" through a search engine, because our family was a so-called blessed subtraction from such a church back in the '90s, and I was going to look for the guru's exact quote teaching his followers to condemn people in local fellowships (often "Community Churches") who won't get on-board with the heresies in the church growth movement. This article which popped up in the search results was interesting:

"...Consensus in the church says that the majority determines the will of God. Though many godly men and women throughout history have had to stand alone against heinous herds of misguided zeal, the postmodern church has been persuaded by certain celebrated charlatans that groupthink is synonymous with God-think." read more...

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
~Acts 20:28-31

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
~II Corinthians 11:13-15

I'm sure you've seen me stalking your blog all day. I'm so bored at work, you need to entertain me. This should not be called "work," it should be called "____."

It should be called there's no business like slow business? I had no idea you were hanging out here; I'm not. Do they allow you to read the books?

We went to the bank, not knowing it was customer appreciation day, and tables were laden with baked goodies. While the teller poked buttons and counted cash, I told Dad I had to have some popcorn, which is always fresh popped in the lobby. Teller said, "There are all sorts of goodies on the tables." "I saw that, but I can't smell them. I have to have the popcorn."

Call me later -- not that I'll have anything to say. I'll listen to you wash dishes. *kiss*
